Icy Twin Volcanoes Sitting in the Horizon

Located within the forests of Northern Oregon, Mount Elphaven and its surrounding areas are a plethora of natural ã̴̢ņ̷̯͆́̚d̴̛̞̯̒̑͜ ̸͙̫͉́̆͋ŝ̵̡̥u̴̬̩̘̕p̶͈̖̩͐͌ẻ̷̫̱̈́r̷͚̈́͛̾n̷̮̔a̷̭͗t̸̳͒u̶͇͒̈r̵̍̍͜a̶̡̤̐̈l̶̯̀̈ resources. The park's namesake, Mount Elphaven, serves as a picturesque backdrop, towering over the northern coast of Oregon. It is easy to get lost in the natural beauty of this magical place.

  • There has been in incident at the Pain Hole again. Park visitors are strongly advised to assist rangers in reporting any trespassers in the area.
  • Plan ahead for late summer - fall congestion! This time of the year is the park's peak season.
  • Please remember to NOT feed the squirrels! One broke into the ranger station last weekend and destroyed it.

JUL. XX, 202X
  • Mt. Elphaven NP reopens its doors. The EVO issues that it is safe to visit again, but continues to monitor volcanic activity.
  • A M6.9 earthqauke from the activity has caused a slope to fail in the west side. All roads and trails nearby are CLOSED until further notice.

ALERTS

DANGER:
  • The EVO has issued an alert for volcanic unrest. While the park continues to keep its doors open, beware of periodic earthquakes and other geohazards.

PARK CLOSURE:
  • The Pain Hole and trailheads leading to the location remains CLOSED throughout the rest of the season.
  • A massive landslide due to recent earthquakes has BLOCKED the western end of the park. Visitors must use the east road.

CAUTION:
  • Parkwide BURN BAN in effect until further notice. Campfires are PROHIBITED.

INFORMATION:
  • Usage of drones in the park is PROHIBITED.
  • Cell service is very spotty throughout the park. Free reliable internet is offered only at the main visitor center.
