BACKSTORY
Mona is new to Sandstone Springs, having to make a pit stop in the living ghost town after her van got totaled (from running into TB at night). It's not HER fault that some weirdo freak decided to walk around in the desert at night! Not to mention she was trying to outrun something sinister, but she wasn't sure what it was. Mona highly believes it was an evil spirit following her. It seems like this little mining community is hiding more than it leads on, and while Mona is here waiting for her van to be fixed, she might as well investigate what is going on with it. Along with the unwanted company of the weird white boy she ran over.
Originally from the west coast (in the town of Blueschist Harbor), she sold all her belongings, bought a camper van, and left the city after going though a bad break-up. Mona had always been a loner, not by choice of course. Her supernatural powers to see ghosts, which she gained after a near-death experience, left Mona isolated from everyone. Her family did not take too kindly for her claims about seeing ghosts and spirits, nor her change in personality, beliving she is faking it for attention or that she is crazy (it's often left her wondering if she really is delusional or not). She often comes off as a little offputting to others, and therefore defensive; It was difficult for Mona to get along at all with others. She just wanted out, to see the world, and be away from everyone, and so began her life on the road.
Mona meets TB after running into him at night with her van. Her first impression of TB was him getting all up in her space like an angry chihuahua, which she found extremely annoying. He's probably the most annoying person she's ever met, even. Because of her misanthropic nature, Mona is slower to warm up to TB and stays cautious of him whenever he stops by. However, she found his stupidity charming in addition to the apparent kindness that TB consistently extends to her. An added bonus was that TB not only took notice in anything she talked about, but he also encouraged her to ramble (mostly a habitual thing he does to get information out of others) which allowed Mona to freely speak her mind. Eventually, she begins to accept him as a friend since she enjoys his company. One thing Mona enjoys doing is pulling TB's leg - she thinks it's funny when he gets riled about something so mundane to her.
PERSONALITY
Mona is a reserved woman who tends to keep to herself. Despite her shy nature, she can also be very confrontational due to her "no bullshit" attitude where she doesn't care about how others perceive her (it's not her problem!). Because of this, Mona often comes off to others as bad-tempered due in part to her "resting bitch face" (which is really just her default tired face). However, she is very passionate about the things she enjoys, if someone is ever willing to lend an ear, and can be quite impressionable even at the most mundane of experiences. She also has a more mischievous side when she's warmed up enough with someone, and loves teasing them. She is more on the sentimental side and can be found taking candid photos and collecting various memorabilias, including receipts and ticket stubs.

TRIVIA

- Named for monazite, a rare thorium-bearing mineral often used in radiometric dating.
- Average in height, about the same as TB. My characters only have relative height, not canon heights.
- Drives, and lives in an orange Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Westfalia (those vintage camper buses).
- Is really into spirituality and crystal healing. She would make fun of your astrology birth chart.
- Her fashion style ranges from alt rock/nu-metal to metal goth.
- Hair color is natural, can be interpreted as pink, purple, or brown.
- She has a few tattoos...all of them hidden in plain sight. The most significant one is the one on her wrist of her ex's name (always covered up).
- Self-proclaimed misanthrope. She believes she is completely independent and doesn't need anyone's help, nor do they need her's.
- EXUDES failgirl energy. Has the demeanor of a divourced dad in a mid-life crisis.
- If she is annoyed enough by someone, she might just respond with a random date and time while refusing to elaborate.
- Her change in personality is due to her soul accidentally intertwining with a mid-40's trucker dad's soul.

- She is shy but up-front; she can easily tell others what is on her mind, but lacks the confidence to start conversations with strangers.
ROCK FACTS
- Monazite forms as pegmatites in granite rocks which then erode into sedimentary sand.
- Is paramagnetic (weak magnetic attraction in the same direction of the magnetic field).
- Can be radioactive if it contains thorium or uranium.
